iDraw: Quick Color(tilt) Study: 2009.08.05

A very quick sketch using the ColorTilt app on my iPod Touch. I'm finding it very hard to draw in the corners with the current version since the corners activate menus, but otherwise love this app for lots of color & color variations at your finger tips. ( Some other colotTillt examples )

Mmmm... I did a little cleanup in photoshop, too, mostly moving the ear to a better place.

Another entry in my bad High School poster art series (the other one was my illustration of getting vaccinations before my trip to Thailand last year.) In any event, it sure looks political, but my only intentions were form and color and continuing to play with my 10+ years of collected paint chips.

Green Sweatshirt

Strangely, I no longer look like my eyes are quite so rolled up. I didn't fix those weird nostrils, though - they're still weird!

Portrait with a Green Stripe

This is after Henri Matisse's 'Portrait with a Green Stripe' but in the reproduction I was using, the two sides of the face were much more similar in color, both yellow ochre. I thought this would be a simple exercise - bold lines, flatish colors - but this was that quite common case where an image that looks simple, simply isn't.

Channeling Guinan

OK, the skin color is wrong, and I don't have the great hats, and I don't think she wore glasses, but something of the expression reminded me of Guinan, the character Whoopi Goldberg played on the TV series, Star Trek: The Next Generation.
