On the Bench
It's interesting how the easy part is sometimes the hardest - I thought my face would be hardest, but it's the bench I messed up! This was in NYC, and, no, there wasn't an earthquake in progress - the bench wasn't even tilting! I'm guessing I was about a year old but I don't know for sure. Although my photographer father carefully noted how long he exposed each print, there are no dates on the photos I'm working from for these drawings.Labels: 2009, artist, contemporary, daily, every day, Faves: 2009.01, julia kay, Media: Pen, painter, portrait, Process: From Photo(s), self-portrait, Style: Contour Lines, Subject: Childhood, Subject: Narrative, Where: San Francisco (Florida St.)

I'm really enjoying these childhood ones, Julia.
Screw the bench. You were so you! I can see the Julia I've loved for 23 years in that kid's face!
Thanks, sweetie!
