Crocs on Carpet Sit

'Crocs on Carpet Sit' pen and watercolor self-portrait by San Francisco Bay Area artist Julia Kay of her feet in blue croc shoes resting on a red and blue oriental carpet. (Click to view same image larger.) I need a good Seuss-ian rhyme... anyone? Click on comments to leave your suggestions...

Sadly, the carpets were rolled up and put into storage as it was The Alexander Educational Center's last day at beautiful St. John's. When class starts up again in the fall, we'll be at our new digs on 6th Street in Berkeley.

Last Day Of School (Before Summer Break)

Bad Air

'Bad Air' pen and watercolor self-portrait wearing an OSHA gas mask by San Francisco Bay Area artist Julia Kay. (Click to view same image larger.) The smokey, hazy air from the distant wildfires has really been irritating my allergies. Therefore, I opted for full protection when it came time to mow the lawn - and I actually did breathe better inside that thing than I had in days. :Look, Ma, no sneeze!

The Backlit Morning was Beautiful at Sausal Creek, But I Didn't Think I'd be Able to do it Justice

'The Backlit Morning was Beautiful at Sausal Creek, But I Didn't Think I'd be Able to do it Justice' pen and watercolor self-portrait in the woods by San Francisco Bay Area artist Julia Kay. (Click to view same image larger.) Thank-you to Tom & Linda for introducing me to this oasis in Oakland; it makes a real difference in my life to be able to come here, even if it's not as often as I'd like. I arrive tired and cranky; I leave refreshed.

(Click to view same image larger.) This one's for Marlene and Brenda, by whose grace the goddess currently has a home at the library at work. We both thank you for the chocolate!

Broken Blogger - Again!

I'm back from my trip and would like to post my drawings but blogger is broken again. FTP isn't working and this time it really isn't completing - so I don't know of any work-arounds that aren't quite labor intensive. I guess it really is time to look again at wordpress...
