Nose too long yielding brow too high, eye too large, expression too dour…
Nevertheless, I like this very quick sketch of Bill, whose own drawings are awesome!

July 2010: I intend to continue to profile contemporary artists once or twice a week. On the other days, I intend to draw… whatever I darn well feel like!

Today’s portrait is of artist William T. Ayton (British, based in the USA). He makes wonderful drawings and paintings; I’m especially enamored of his well-modeled, extremely detailed, brush and ink portraits.

You can see Bill’s artwork on his flickr imagestream: www.flickr.com/photos/billayton/

And website: www.ayton.net/

Julia Kay for JKPPWe’re having a Portrait Party on flickr – almost 300 artists drawing each other! Here is Bill’s portrait of me from the party. If you’re an artist who’d like to draw/paint other flickr artists, please join the Portrait Party at: www.flickr.com/groups/portraitparty/
