March-April 2010, I intend to draw a different contemporary artist every day.

Today’s artist is Brazilian Patricia Brasil. I love the way she works with flat areas of color, how she portrays real people going about their lives as saints, and the generous, genial spirit that comes through in her work. I didn’t get much of a resemblance, but I hope I captured the real affection evident in the source photo of Patricia (left) with her mother.
