For three years I made a non-photographic self-portrait every day and posted it online as part of my Daily Portrait Project. 3/15/10 is the third and final anniversary of the project. Three years and more than 1000 self-portraits later, I’m ready to expand my daily art practice in new directions. The first thing I’m going to do is spend 4-6 weeks making portraits of other artists. Therefore, this seemed like a good transition piece since it is a self-portrait as the artist Rick Tulka. I was only one among many artists on flickr who chose to draw from this great photo of Rick.

I’m really amazed by the protrait project. Didn’t you miss just one day during those three years?

    Thanks, Birgit!
Thanks for dropping in on both projects!
Amazingly, I didn’t miss a single day. It helped that I decided the day ended when I went to bed, rather than at midnight. Since I mostly drew at night, it did mean I was drawing in every 24 hour period, which was my intention.
I also enjoyed checking out your photos,
