Got the eye, then nothing else was working, so I cropped it in tight and called it a night!

This is a portrait of the artist known on flickr as Luligirl. You can check out her great artwork here: www.flickr.com/photos/lulipie/

After my struggle with the Linda profile piece I just started doodling on top of a previous doodle in paintbook and then suddenly I was making another drawing when really I needed to be going to bed. Overwhelmed clown probably == me.

This one’s for the painter Barbara Stammel, who gave me this image in an email: “Here in Europe it´s freezing and our house will need a scarf or something, we cant get it warm!”

Her work is terrific, by the way, you can see it here: www.flickr.com/photos/13090523@N02/sets/72157623824415787/
and here: www.google.com/images?hl=en&rlz=&q=barbara+stamme…

She’s about to have a show in Madrid as part of the Madrid Artfair ARCO so if you’re in that vicinity, definitely look it up.

Today’s portrait is of artist Beth —, known on flickr as Polusladkaia. Trivia fact: I think if we count all variations, Elizabeth is the most common name at JKPP. In any event, I encourage everyone to browse Beth’s wonderful work here: www.flickr.com/photos/fuzzyimagearts/

I really wanted to draw Beth in a colorful way reflecting the rich palette I love so much in her paintings, but I got bogged down in the color and ended up working over it all with this more limited palette.
